Holiday at the Country Level

LNU birthday is in the list of holidays celebrated at the country level.
On February 2 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a Resolution “On Celebrating Commemorative Dates and Jubilees in 2016” (Resolution) which included the 95th anniversary of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. This year it is celebrated at the country level.
According to the UNIAN 244 out of 329 people’s deputies in debating chamber supported a vote.
The resolution was aimed at consolidating and developing historical consciousness of Ukrainian people, national commemoration and proper celebrating and honoring commemorative dates and jubilees.
