Academic Council meeting

On October 28, a meeting of the Academic Council of the University was held remotely at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The following issues were considered on the agenda:

  • results of the 2022 admissions campaign.
  • marketing strategy of career guidance work at the university in the academic year 2022-2023 and preparation for the admission campaign – 2023.
  • awarding academic titles.
  • miscellaneous.

The Academic Council reviewed the results of the admissions campaign 2022 and preparations for its implementation in 2023. Yaroslava Yurkiv, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, gave a report on the organization and results of admission of applicants. Having discussed the report, the Academic Council noted that the university and its structural subdivisions in 2022 generally ensured the organization of admission and enrollment for all educational (educational and professional, scientific) degrees (professional junior bachelor, bachelor, master, doctor of philosophy, doctor of science) and forms teaching. The student intake was carried out in the difficult conditions of the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine and the second transfer of the university from Luhansk to Poltava region. The volume of admission to the university, taking into account all separate subdivisions and educational degrees and levels, amounted to 2,408 people (by 406 people less than last year).

The next issue was the marketing strategy of career guidance work at the university in 2022-2023 was considered as well as the preparation for conducting the admission campaign – 2023. After listening and discussing the report of the Acting Head of the Center for Information Technology Mykola Semenov, the Academic Council noted that in connection with the significant threats associated with the full-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation, the state of war in Ukraine, the forced relocation of the university, the need to form the image of the institution in the new region, there was an urgent need restructuring of the marketing strategy of career guidance work and the basics of positioning in a new, unfavorable competitive environment.

It was determined the need to analyze the existing experience of the 2022 admission campaign and identify positive and negative factors, as well as threats and opportunities for its improvement.
By the decision of the Academic Council, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Eduard Potapenko was awarded the academic title of Professor of the Department of Chemistry, Geography and Earth Sciences; Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Svitlana Bader was awarded the title of Professor of the Department of Preschool and Elementary Education.

Among the miscellaneous, the Academic Council made changes to the regulations on the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts, the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism, and the Faculty of Natural Sciences; approved changes to commission members in the Academic Council; recommended scientific and educational-methodical works for publication; approved the topic of the dissertation for obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences, etc.
