E-Tutor: Experience and Efficiency
4.2.2016
More than 50 lecturers of LNU have completed e-tutor training program.
A course “E-Tutors Certification” was conducted from October 3 to December 26, 2015 by the University of Economy and Law “KROK” on the base of original course developed by Ankara University supported by the Center for Innovative Teaching Methods of Management and Law School of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences within the project of institutional partnership of Swiss National Science Foundation.
Course provides the participants with the knowledge to be an effective online tutor. That is why it included the overview of e-learning conceptions and processes and tools for management, organization and creation of e-learning content.
“The courses were quiet intensive.Every week we had to submit about three or four tasks. On the one hand, course program was very busy but in the other hand, it was divided into the optimal-size parts. Theoretical knowledge was expended with video lectures and different articles on the considered subject.
For me, as for a teacher of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, these courses were very useful. When our university crossed over to the combined education with the use of e-learning technologies, many teachers were confused how to teach students correctly and well, how to get out knowledge in such a way that students really understand it but not just use the Internet.
This course was aimed to develop certain skills for a teacher to make teaching material interactive, interesting so that students could apply analytical research approach and not just copy it”, – tells Iryna Viktorivna Myhovych, participant of e-learning training.
Olena Leonidivna Kravchenko, coordinating tutor in “Publishing and Editing” of LNU: “All tasks were aimed at improving our knowledge on Moodle teaching methods. We were taught how to use creative approach to education, make lessons more interesting and interactive and improve students’ acquisition of knowledge. When preparing the lessons, we should think on how students will acquire information. The course deepened our knowledge and e-learning experience.”
Completing the course “E-Tutors Certification” improved teachers’ knowledge on basic e-learning concepts and e-learning quality assurance system. Now e-tutors can define necessary teaching theories for e-learning even more effective.
