Adaptation of students at the ER IPP

The advisors of the academic groups of the first-year students at the ER IPP conducted curatorial hours to identify the level of students’ adaptation at the university.

Adaptation of students is a rather complex process that continues throughout all years of study at a higher education institution, but the most problematic period is first-year studies. It was even more difficult for this year’s freshers to adapt to the educational process at the institute, as the training takes place in the conditions of martial law and the evacuation of the university.

Advisors conducted conversations and testing, provided recommendations to students on creating favorable conditions for a full-fledged positive adaptation. The analysis of the test results showed that the majority of first-year students successfully pass the adaptation period. One of the conditions that contributed to this is the implementation of organizational measures: collection of data about the student; creation of a group asset; distribution of students by areas of activity, taking into account their interests and inclinations; control of the collection of documents for obtaining benefits for certain categories of students, etc.

However, a certain number of first-year students encountered significant problems. They are associated with an unusual form of learning, an increase in the amount of independent study of the material.

We are sure that the first-year students will adapt to this year’s difficult conditions of study at the institute and will overcome all subjective and objective difficulties.
