International Academic Mobility

Student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages began studies at the University of Bath.
The University of Bath is one of the best public institutions of higher education in Great Britain, located in the south-west of the country, in the charming town of Bath. This name was given to it due to the fact that the Roman Baths are located here – the main historical monument, which is more than 2000 years old. By the way, just on the eve of arrival and start of the course at the university, foreign students have the opportunity to book a place on a tour of the city organized by the student union. In particular, they organize tour to the “Romans Bath” museum, where you can see and learn the history of the object of the World UNESCO heritage.
At the beginning of October, Mariana Maksilevych, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, began studying under the international academic mobility program at the University of Bath, Great Britain. The first week at the university is called “Freshers week”. It is dedicated to “fresh” students, who are freshmen or have come here for the first time to study. This time is devoted exclusively to the process of students’ adaptation to a new place for them: there are many different familiarization activities, games, walks, etc. In addition, during these days, students must solve organizational issues. They should get a Library card, come to a meeting with the head of their faculty and finally decide on the subjects they want to study during the mobility period. Students receive access to their own timetable, educational portals and all other important information to their own corporate student e-mail. In addition to the chosen subjects, the university provides the opportunity to enroll in additional courses to improve skills in academic, linguistic, digital, mathematical, cultural and other areas. University of Bath has Careers service that offers information, advice and guidance on student’s future career, and holds many different seminars and lectures.
The territory of the university is large, modern and incredible. It is like a separate city where you can find everything you need. “House of Cats and Dogs” is a place there where you can come and spend time with pets. As a bonus you can take a dog for a short walk. While walking you can see a squirrel looking for nuts, and cows or sheep that are grazing in the field behind the fence.
The Faculty of Foreign Languages wishes Mariana success in her studies, gaining new knowledge and skills that she will be able to use in the future.
Mariana expresses her gratitude to the International Relations Department of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, represented by the head of the department, Iryna Mygovych, for comprehensive assistance in organizing participation in the academic exchange programme.
