TRAINING FROM THE REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE OF THE POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES

Acting the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages took part in the Public Speaking and Self-presenting for Researchers training from the “Polish Academy of Sciences” Representative Office in Kyiv.

Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Iryna Mygovich took part in the two-day online training Public Speaking and Self-presenting for Researchers from the Representative Office of the “Polish Academy of Sciences”, whose activities have recently been carried out on the territory of the Republic of Poland.

The purpose of the training was to develop the skills of presenting their scientific achievements during public events (forums, lectures, seminars, presentations at conferences, etc.). Attention was focused on the elements of effective self-presentation, the design of a professional speech, conceptual formulation of a speech, non-verbal body language during a public speech (postures and gestures to enhance the informative and emotional impact of the speech), etc. The trainer and moderator of the event was Ms. Agnieszka Bożek, PhD, psychologist, psychotherapist, trainer of personal and social skills, who has been conducting workshops and trainings in the field of personal and social competencies for educational institutions, non-governmental organizations and businesses for more than 12 years. Since 2015, Ms. Bozek has been cooperating with the Association for Career Development of Doctors of Science “PolDoc” and the Science Trainer company in the field of conducting seminars and trainings on psychosocial and didactic skills for universities and research institutions.

The training was the first of a series of online events for scientists of Ukraine. The following are scheduled (online registration is open): 1) 21.10.2022 – open lecture Looking for additional employment for researchers – Polish job market opportunities, also outside of the science and technology sector; 2) 04.11.2022 – How to be successful in grant writing? 3) 09-10.11.2022 – Soft Skills for Researchers – self-motivation and dealing with stress; 4) 28.11.2022 – Science and Business Collaboration – legal solutions in Poland and EU.
