FISU University World Cup Combat Sports-2022

Students of LTSNU achieved significant results at the FISU University World Cup Combat Sports-2022 among students.
The team of Ukraine included athletes from the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports. So, silver was won by Mykyta Politaiev, a 4th-year student of the “Physical Culture and Sports” specialty, and bronze was won by Sviatoslav Kalashnikov (Greco-Roman wrestling, 130 kg), a first-year master’s student majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports”. Dmytro Korieiev, a 1st-year student majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports”, entered the top five (Greco-Roman wrestling), taking the fifth place.
In total, the Ukrainian national team won 66 medals, including 19 golden, 25 silver, and 22 bronze ones. According to the results of the overall team standings, it took the second place.
It should be noted that from September 21 to 30, the FISU University World Cup Combat Sports-2022 was held in the city of Samsun (Turkey) among students. The total number of participants is about 1200 students (344 universities from 50 countries of the world). The age of the participants was 18-25 years. Ukrainian athletes represented our country in five sports: freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, Muay Thai boxing, Wushu, boxing.
