Academic Council meeting

On September 30, a meeting of the Academic Council was held at the university online.

The following issues were considered on the agenda:

  • about the material and technical support of the educational process at the university;
  • miscellaneous.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the academic council, Vitaliy Kurylo, congratulated all those present on the upcoming holiday of the Education Worker’s Day, which all educators will meet this year in difficult social and political conditions, and at the same time wished them strength, inspiration and strong faith in victory.

During the consideration of the issue of material and technical support of the educational process at the university, the first vice-rector Vitalii Kurylo noted: “The events of February 24, as a result of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of the state, again led to the forced evacuation of the university. LTSNU once again found itself without the proper material and technical, informational, educational and methodological base; without housing for teachers and students; with a contingent of students who are geographically distant from the educational institution. However, having the experience of recovery in the conditions of external aggression and displacement in 2014, the university responded to new challenges, mobilized and continues its activities. LTSNU currently participates in three large grant projects. The members of the LTSNU Supervisory Council S. V. Lizanets, E. A. Aliiev, O. B. Shevchuk, O. S. Dniprov, People’s Deputy Tkachenko M. M., and the “Alma Mater” Charitable Foundation provided significant assistance to the university. The local self-government bodies of Lubny, Myrhorod and Poltava, the Poltava Regional Council and the military-civilian administration also help our university.”

The rector of the university, Olena Karaman, took part in the discussion of the issue and mentioned: “The difficult work has been done to prepare for the 2022-2023 academic year. The material and technical base of the university available today fully complies with the sanitary and hygienic standards and state building standards of Ukraine for higher education institutions. LTSNU works tirelessly to find ways to solve urgent problems of improving the material and technical base of the educational process, increasing the classroom fund for conducting classes, providing modern equipment and computer technology, etc.

The meeting discussed and approved changes to the Development Strategy of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University for 2019-2025, Regulations on the Internal System for Ensuring the Quality of Education, Regulations on the Academic Integrity of Participants in the Educational Process, Regulations on the Department of International Relations and other regulatory documents of the university, the Code of Corporate Culture was approved, Regulations on the competitive commission for the selection of candidates to fill vacant positions of scientific and pedagogical workers, Regulations on surveys of higher education applicants, graduates and employers regarding the quality of educational, educational-professional, educational-scientific programs, Regulations on the Faculty of Ukrainian of Philology and Journalism, Regulations on the educational and methodological center “SvitLingva” of the state institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”.
