Ceremony of greeting first-year students on the Faculty of foreign languages

The academic year for first-year students began at the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
An event marking the beginning of the academic year was held at the Faculty of Foreign Languages on September 15. Despite the unstable situation in the country, the meeting was attended by the majority of students of the first year of the 2022 recruitment and scientific and pedagogical staff of the faculty.
The event began with a welcome speech by the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Iryna Myhovych, who, among other things, made a short excursion into the history and present of our university.
The education seekers were also greeted by the lecturer of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, Vice Dean in charge of Educative Affairs, Liudmyla Ovcharova, who spoke about the peculiarities of the educational process at the faculty and training under martial law. The welcome speech was also given to the lecturer of the Translation Studies Department, Vice Dean in charge of Social and Humanitarian Affairs, and the Head of the Council of Young Scientists and Students Olha Korinska, who wished everyone present a year full of positive events and emphasized the need to participate in the faculty and university scientific conferences, seminars, trainings and round tables. Emphasis was placed on the need to observe the rules of conduct in martial law conditions, the organization of anti-epidemic measures in connection with the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus disease. The Vice Dean conducted an instruction on fire safety and occupational safety for students, and the advisors of academic groups – an introductory instruction on safety techniques in a higher education institution and in a dormitory. The head of student self-government of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Denys Seliverstov, in his speech for the students of the senior year, congratulated the first-year students and wished them creative inspiration.
Advisers of academic groups of each specialty and representatives of the faculty were presented at the event, including Iryna Sklyarova, Svitlana Perova, Nadia Demchenko, Svitlana Shpetna, Yevgenia Ternievska and others.
We wish first-year students, all students and lecturers of the Faculty of Foreign Languages fruitful work, a successful start of the new academic year and peace.
