Open lecture by Professor Daron Acemoglu

Future political scientists together with teachers listened to an open lecture by Professor Daron Acemoglu.
The teachers of the Department of Political Science and Law together with students of all levels of higher education majoring in “Political Science” joined the open lecture by Daron Acemoglu, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Philosophical Society, the British Academy of Sciences, the Turkish Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and of Sciences, the Econometric Society, the European Economic Association and the Society of Labor Economics.
Mr. Acemoglu is the author of five books, including: “Why Nations Fail: The Origins of Power, Prosperity and Poverty” (with James A. Robinson); “Introduction to Modern Economic Growth” and “The Narrow Corridor: States, Societies, and the Fate of Liberty” (with James A. Robinson).
The lecturer raised a number of topical issues regarding the world order and democratic processes in the world after the end of the war in Ukraine.
It was about:
- new rules and order of society;
- interaction of the state and society;
- cooperation of state institutions, business and society;
- Ukraine’s place in the international arena;
- the future of democracy in Ukraine, the world and the new international order.
