Knowledge Day!

The new 2022-2023 academic year has begun at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The new 2022-2023 academic year began unusually for our University. Challenges of fate once again test the university’s staff for stability and endurance. This year, the educational process will start gradually, separately for each of the bachelor’s and master’s courses.

On the morning of August 15, 2022, the administration and scientific and pedagogical workers, employees and students gathered for a solemn event. Knowledge Day is always a particularly solemn and exciting day, full of emotions and a happy atmosphere. On this day, the unexplored path to new knowledge, acquaintances and opportunities begins.

The solemn meeting began with the performance of the national anthem of Ukraine, which gave everyone present a sense of belonging to the great University family and native Ukraine.

The head of the Academic Council of LTSNU, Vitalii Kurylo, congratulated students and teachers, “We are starting this academic year in conditions that are not typical for an educational institution, in conditions of a brutal war that Russia has launched against the Ukrainian people, a war of extermination. Our university was the first to be on the front line, in 2014 we were already moving from Luhansk city. Today, they are again forced to move from the Luhansk region. We are very grateful to Poltava and the Poltava region, which accepted the university with an open mind. Today, August 15, we start the academic year. Despite the difficult conditions, the university is alive, life goes on. The beginning of training is a symbol of the fact that Ukraine will win! Our task is to bring knowledge to students!”

Unfortunately, some our teachers and students, who defended our Motherland, diad. Those present honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.

Rector of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Olena Karaman, addressed the audience with the following words: “Despite the difficult times, it is very joyful and pleasant to see familiar faces. We believe in Ukraine! After the victory, we will build a new Ukraine! For this we need highly qualified specialists trained by our university. Everyone faces the task of organizing high-quality and safe education.” Olena Leonidivna wished the university to exist forever, not to lose its traditions and proudly bear the name of Taras Shevchenko.
Diana Barannyk, head of student self-government of the ER ICA, and Denis Seliverstov, head of student self-government of FFL, emphasized that the leadership of the university, in the role of students, felt the atmosphere of the educational process. “I am sure that the new academic year will be another step on the way to the development of education and the university, and we will be able to achieve everything that we have planned.”

The celebrations were continued by individual classes in a specialty (special instrument (violin), solo singing) performed by Yurii Kyrychenko and Tetiana Molderf. The outstanding concertmaster Zoia Tsybulnyk conducted a practical class on Harmony. Oleksii Sobolevskyi also pleased everyone with his drawings. Anatolii Mishin shared the highlights of the Basics of TV Journalism with everyone present. An open lecture was held at the Faculty of Foreign Languages. The guests of these classes were not only the students, but also the university administration.

The holiday celebrations have come to an end and classes will soon begin. From now on, busy weekdays and bright holidays await the whole university. And we wish our students happiness, health, well-being and as many joyful moments as possible. Steel patience, energy, wisdom, prudence, self-belief and conquest of the highest peaks!
