Beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year at the Faculty of Foreign Languages

The new 2022-2023 academic year has begun at the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
On August 15, 2022, the Faculty of Foreign Languages began full-time training for students of most specialties of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years of study. The ceremonial opening of the new academic year took place with the participation of the university management (O. Karaman, V. Kurylo, Ya. Yurkiv and others), the faculty of foreign languages (I. Mygovich, L. Ovcharova, O. Korinska, I. Sklyarova), the teaching staff departments (Translation Studies Department, The Department of Oriental Languages, Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, Department of Foreign languages for specific purposes) and students of the named years of study.
Rector Olena Karaman, head of the Academic Council of the University Vitaly Kurylo, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Iryna Mygovich and Acting Head of Student Self-government of the Faculty Denys Seliverstov addressed those present with a welcome speech.
Education seekers were told about the organization of the educational process in the first semester in three main directions: educational, social and humanitarian, and scientific activities. Emphasis was placed on the need to observe the rules of conduct in martial law conditions, as well as on the organization of anti-epidemic measures in connection with the spread of the COVID-19. Olha Korinska, Vice Dean for Educational Work, conducted training on fire safety and occupational safety for students, and advisors and heads of academic groups conducted regular and repeated training on safety techniques in a higher education institution and in a dormitory.
After the ceremonial event practical English language classes has been conducted by Vice Deans and lecturers of the Faculty for students. During the class lecturers of the Faculty visually demonstrated a number of techniques and resources, so that students of different courses, specialties and levels were interested, and the information provided was useful.
Also, students and teachers of the Faculty listened to an open lecture on the topic “Poltava – the spiritual capital of Ukraine”, where everyone had the opportunity to learn new information, as well as to deepen their knowledge about the role of Poltava today, its outstanding places, history, literature etc.
We wish all students and teachers of the Faculty of Foreign Languages fruitful work, a successful start of the new academic year and peace.
