Research grant of the Kosciuszko Foundation

The head of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology received a research grant of the Kosciuszko Foundation. 

Olena Byndas, Head of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, received a research grant from the American-Polish Kosciuszko Cultural and Educational Foundation “Freedom starts with your mind” (Warsaw), Poland, 2022).

Thanks to the support of the University of Warsaw, namely the Institute of English Studies, the research aimed to investigate the experience and adaptation of students of Ukrainian higher education institutions with different educational and speech levels who arrived in Poland after February 24, 2022. Among other problematic issues, attention will be focused on consequences of interrupted learning, linguistic challenges and support provided by the scientific community. The research will be conducted throughout 2022, and its results will be highlighted in scientific articles that are included in international scientific and metric databases, and at international conferences and seminars.

The findings of this project can have a significant impact on the best practices of supporting the arrival of refugees in the educational environment, preventing language barriers, as well as policy formation at different levels: micro-, meso- and macro-levels.
