Working meeting in the city of Myrhorod
23.7.2022
On July 22, the head of the Myrhorod District Council Natalia Hyrka held a working meeting with the dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of LTSNU Natalia Matsai.
The working meeting was devoted to the discussion of cooperation between the authority structures of the district and the university on attracting applicants for studies in agricultural, natural sciences and teaching specialties, which are in demand in the region and have state support. It was attended by the head of the secretariat of the “Dovira” parliamentary group in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the assistant of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleh Ivanovych Kulinich Yulia Neroda, the deputy of the Poltava Regional Council Oleh Didenko and the deputy of the Myrhorod District Council Ihor Didenko.
At the beginning of the meeting, Natalia Hyrka emphasized the importance of the development of a center of higher education in the district. According to her, Myrhorod region is an agrarian region, therefore it is necessary to make efforts in order to educate a worthy replacement of specialists, in particular for enterprises of the agrarian sector. The higher educational institution, which began its work in the central manor of the district, has all the necessary resources for this – highly qualified teaching staff, relevant specialties, advanced learning technologies. In addition, obtaining a university education for young people at their place of residence in the conditions of war in the state is extremely relevant.
The participants of the meeting emphasized that for the development of the region with a high level of agricultural production, the specialties of the Faculty of Natural Sciences will be of particular importance, both the purely agricultural specialty “Agronomy” and the specialty “Natural Sciences”, which trains specialists in the field of land management, and the specialty “Landscape Gardening” for the training of specialists in landscape design and green landscaping of cities and towns. In the conditions of the war in the country, the training of environmental specialists is gaining even greater relevance and a new direction. Taking into account the increase in demand for biologists and chemists in recent years, these natural specialties, as well as teaching specialties in the natural and mathematical direction – training of teachers of biology and the basics of health, chemistry, geography and mathematics – are becoming relevant.
Natalia Matsai noted that at the university, in the mentioned specialties, training is carried out at the bachelor’s and master’s levels of higher education. Admission to the bachelor’s degree (on the basis of 11 classes) at places of state order, full-time and part-time forms of education, is possible under the conditions of passing the national exam with a score of at least 125 (or providing the results of the 2019-2021 external evaluation). Due to the state support of these specialties, a significant number of budgetary places are always provided for them.
For those people who wish to study on a contract basis, there is a possibility of admission to these specialties based on a motivational letter drawn up by the applicant. The fairly low cost of the contract is also attractive for applicants and their parents – UAH 12.5-13 thousand (full-time form of learning) and UAH 10,000 (part-time form of learning) per one year. Having a junior bachelor’s degree, or a junior specialist’s, or a professional junior bachelor’s degree, in any specialty, applicants can immediately enter the 2nd or 3rd year of the bachelor’s degree.
Acceptance of applications to the university for the bachelor’s degree will begin on July 29 and end on August 8, for those who enter on the budget without the results of the NMT (External Evaluation 2019-2021) and on July 23 for those who enter based on the results of the NMT (External Evaluation 2019-2021) or on a contract basis.
It is important to emphasize that admission to the master’s degree in the faculty’s specialties, in the Admission Campaign 2022, to the budget form is carried out based on the results of a professional exam at the university, and to the contract one – only on the basis of the applicant’s motivation letter. The cost of the contract form of education in the master’s degree is also low: full-time – 14-15 thousand UAH, part-time – 12-13 thousand UAH.
Applications for admission to the master’s program on budget and contract are accepted from August 16 to September 15.
Special attention is paid to entrants from temporarily occupied and particularly dangerous territories, for which a simplified admission procedure has been developed.
There is an opportunity to continue studying at the postgraduate courses having the specialty “Agronomy”.
Structural subdivisions of the university offer training in their specialties not only to the youth of this year’s graduation, but also to those who have a certain level of education and would like to improve it. For them, there is a unique opportunity to realize their goal directly at their place of residence.
Special attention of the participants of the meeting was paid to specific measures of career orientation work among the graduates of the district during the admission campaign-2022 for the specialties of the faculty.
Nataliya Yuriivna also spoke about the specialties of other structural subdivisions of the university for which specialists will be trained in the city of Myrhorod, namely: specialties in the field of economics and business, modern information technologies, as well as a unique medical specialty – “Technologies of medical diagnosis and treatment”. In the colleges of the university, training will be carried out both in artistic directions and in technical and economic specialties.
