LTSNU became a member of the European University Association

On June 21, 2022, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University was once again included in the European University Association.
The application for the inclusion of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University in the European University Association was submitted on April 11, 2022. At the meeting of the Council of the European University Association in Brussels on June 21, a decision was made to grant individual full membership of the association to Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The European University Association (EUA), which unites more than 850 educational institutions from 47 countries, was founded in 2001 in Spain. EUA members are the leading European universities active in higher education and science: the University of Barcelona, the Free University of Berlin, the University of Lisbon, the University of London, the University of Stockholm, etc. Today, 28 Ukrainian universities are included in the list of individual full members of the EUA (https://eua.eu/about/member-directory.html).
The main mission of the EUA is to promote the development of a harmonious system of European higher education and scientific research, providing active support to its members as autonomous institutions in the development of the quality of education, teaching and research work. Among the main priorities of the work of EUA members are the construction of the European area of higher education within the framework of the Bologna process, research and innovation, internationalization of higher education and scientific research, improving the quality of work of European universities, appropriate management, autonomy and stable funding.
We would like to remind you that Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University was an individual full member of EUA from 2004 to 2014. Unfortunately, due to the military conflict in the east of Ukraine in 2014, the university was forced to evacuate and our cooperation with the association was temporarily suspended.
It should be noted that Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is the first educational institution in the region that is an individual full member of the European University Association.
The advantages of membership in the European University Association are participation in European conferences, as well as thematic events with the participation of well-known European and international speakers; participation in projects and research in the field of higher education development; participation in the work of scientific schools and seminars, as well as unique training programs for the management of higher education institutions; opportunities to exchange experience with leading experts, as well as get acquainted with the latest trends in the development of higher education and science and the best practices of European higher education institutions; receiving publications, reports and analytical materials on key issues of higher education and science.
After joining the European University Association, the best Ukrainian higher education institutions get even more opportunities for international cooperation and implementation of joint research projects. The inclusion of our university in the EUA will contribute to its dynamic development according to the best European standards. We hope that Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, together with other members of the association, will play a decisive role in the formation of European higher education and scientific research.
