Memorandum of Cooperation

On June 24, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Lubny City Council of the Lubny District of Poltava Region.
February 24, 2022 changed the lives of all Ukrainians, because they were forced to face the onslaught of Russian aggression. Our university not only became an exception, but also one of the first to suffer the traces of a full-scale invasion of Russia. However, Shevchenko’s spirit did not allow the university to break down and it is again looking for ways to survive. Thus, the university management decided to locate structural subdivisions in the Poltava region, in particular in the cities of Poltava, Lubny and Myrhorod.
Thus, on June 9, 2022, the Agreement on Cooperation between Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and Myrhorod City Council was signed, and yesterday, June 24, a solemn event was held to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between Luhansk Taras Shevchenko Natinal University and Lubny City Council.
The delegation from the university was represented by: Chairman of the Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo, Rector Olena Karaman, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Yaroslava Yurkiv, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Anatolii Zhuchok, Acting Vice-Rector for Administrative and Economic Affairs Artur Moldovanov, Chairman of the Trade Union Volodymyr Moroz, Head of the International Relations Department Iryna Myhovych, Head of the Luhansk Regional Branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Viktor Ostretsov, Head of the Information Technology Department Mykola Semenov, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology Viktoria Stepanenko, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism Eduard Potapenko, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Oleksandr Dubovoi, Director of the Separate Structural Subdivision “Lysychansk Pedagogical Professional College” of LTSNU, Dean of the Ukrainian Philology and Journalism Faculty Artem Halych, Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Affairs of the ER IPP Vira Pushko.
During the event, university representatives presented their university to friends from the Lubny region, where they described its full structure, 101-year history of existence, as well as separately presented each structural subdivision. Thus, the Lubny land will house the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism, the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports, as well as Lysychansk, Kadiivka, Starobilsk and Professional Colleges.
At the beginning of the solemn event, Lubny Mayor Oleksandr Hrytsaienko addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. Welcoming the audience, he noted that the hall of the City Council has never gathered so many respected scientists and assured that Lubny and Lubny region, which have a great and glorious history, will do everything to make the University comfortable and Lubny received a powerful higher education institution.
The solemn moment of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” represented by Rector Olena Karaman and Lubny City Council of Lubny District of Poltava Region represented by Lubny Mayor Oleksandr Hrytsaienko. The Chairman of the Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo noted: “We are confident that our cooperation will be long-term and promising, productive and mutually beneficial for the development of both parties.”
The official website of the Lubny City Council (https://www.facebook.com/lubnyrada/) stated: “Memorandum of Cooperation between the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” and the Lubny City Council, approved on June 23 by the deputies of the City Council, was signed.
The academic year should start on September 1. This is a great challenge, difficult tasks and a great prospect for the Lubny region. After all, in these difficult times for every Ukrainian, many families will be able to provide quality education to their children near their home, and Lubny will get new jobs.”
Oleksandr Sydorenko, Director of the Kharkiv Regional Center for Educational Quality Assessment, Doctor of Sociology, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, was the guest of honor at the event. He noted: “Lubenshchyna has long deserved to have a prestigious educational institution here, and this plan is doomed to success.”
