Academic Council Meeting

On June 23, the University hosted a full-time and online meeting of the Academic Council.
The following issues were considered on the agenda:
- on the implementation of the decisions of the Academic Council for the academic year 2021 – 2022;
- on approval of educational programs and curricula for the academic year 2022 – 2023;
- on the assignment of academic titles;
- miscellaneous.
At the beginning of the meeting of the Academic Council, the Rector of the University Olena Karaman and the Chairman of the Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo presented diplomas of higher education to 2022 graduates of the first (bachelor’s) level, including foreign citizens. The scientific and pedagogical staff of the university were awarded certificates of academic titles. In particular the certificate of the Professor of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology was awarded to the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Iryna Myhovych and the certificate of Associate Professor of Pedagogy to Larysa Vorona.
After hearing and discussing the report of the Academic Secretary on the implementation of the decisions of the Academic Council for the academic year 2021 – 2022, the Academic Council noted that during the academic year 2021 – 2022 there were 11 meetings of the University Academic Council.
During this period, educational programs and curricula for the academic year 2021-2022 and the list of disciplines of free choice for applicants of the first (bachelor’s), second (master’s) levels and the third (educational-scientific) level of the doctor of philosophy for the academic year 2022 – 2023 were approved; recommended for doctoral studies of three people; three doctoral students and a scholarship holder of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for young scientists were certified; Serhii Mamychenko’s scientific work “Theoretical and Methodological Principles of Forming a Culture of Competitive Relations in Future Specialists in Business Administration” was nominated for participation in the competition for the President of Ukraine Award for Young Scientists; 103 scientific and educational works were recommended for publication; the topics of dissertations (for the degree of Doctor of Sciences – 11, Doctor of Philosophy – 24) were approved, etc.
A number of issues were removed from the agenda of the scheduled meetings of the Academic Council, as in the context of the legal regime of martial law in Ukraine and in connection with the temporary relocation of the university, such issues need to be postponed. The members of the Academic Council also discussed a number of decisions that were partially or not implemented. In general, the work of the Academic Council in the academic year 2021-2022 was considered satisfactory.
After hearing and discussing the report of the Acting Head of the Education Department Valentyna Lesnova, the Academic Council approved changes in educational programs from 01.07.2022 and curricula, which will take effect from 01.09.2022.
By the decision of the Academic Council, five scientific and pedagogical workers were awarded the titles of Associate Professor of Geography, Associate Professor of Journalism and Publishing, Associate Professor of Design, Associate Professor of Olympic and Professional Sports and Professor of Public Service and Management of Educational and Social Institutions.
Among the miscellaneous, it was decided to change the name of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications to the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism from July 1, 2022; reorganize departments in the structure of the university; to form specialized scientific councils for awarding the degree of Doctor of Philosophy; to recommend for publication scientific and educational works; to approve educational and professional programs of Kadiivka Pedagogical Professional College of the SI “LTSNU” of professional training and curricula to them; changes to the educational and professional programs of the Professional College of LTSNU of the professional training of professional junior bachelor and curricula for them; the topic of the dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences.
