State Attestation at the Faculty of Foreign Languages

106 higher education applicants for Bachelor’s degree (full-time and intermittent modes of study) passed the state exams at the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

Between 16 and 19 May at the Faculty of Foreign Languages 106 higher education applicants for Bachelor’s degree (full-time and intermittent modes of study) passed the state exams of the following programme subject areas: «Philology. Oriental Languages and Literatures (Including Translation), First Language is Japanese. Language and Literature (Japanese, English)», «Philology. Oriental Languages and Literatures (Including Translation), First Language is Chinese. Language and Literature (Chinese, English)» and «Secondary Education. Language and Literature (English, German, French)». 7 people were not allowed to take the exams on such grounds as «for breaking the terms of the contract» and «for non-compliance with the requirements of the curriculum».

On May 16, 8 foreign students of the programme subject area 014.02 «Secondary Education. Language and Literature (English)», May 16 and 17 – 1 foreign student of the programme subject area 014.02 «Secondary Education. Language and Literature (German, English)», May 17 and 18 – 41 foreign students of the programme subject area 014.02 «Secondary Education. Language and Literature (Russian, English)», May 18 and 19 – 1 foreign student of the programme subject area 035.06 «Philology. Oriental Languages and Literatures (Including Translation), First Language is Chinese. Language and Literature (Chinese, English)». Due to the context of martial law, all exams were conducted online using Skype.

There was one examination commission at the Faculty, chaired by Valentyna Ishchenko – Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Business Foreign Language Department of Poltava University of Economics and Trade. The examination commission included the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Iryna Myhovych; Head of the Romance and Germanic Philology Department, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Olena Byndas; Head of the Theory and Practice of Translation Department, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Nadiia Demchenko; Head of the of World Literature and Slavic Linguistics Department, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Victoriia Dmytrenko; Temporarily Acting Head of the Oriental Languages Department, lecturer Olexandra Borzova. It should be noted that a long period of online study created some difficulties in preparing for exams, but it did not affect the results of applicants. All graduates passed the exams for positive marks and confirmed the results they received during four years of study at the university (inter alia, four diplomas with honors). Most of the graduates expressed a desire to continue their student careers at our university at the second (Master’s) level of higher education.

The Faculty of Foreign Languages wishes all its graduates new achievements and further educational and scientific work in their chosen field and will be happy to welcome everyone to the Master’s degree next academic year.
