11.6.2022
On June 9, a cooperation agreement was signed between Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and Myrhorod City Council.
Due to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, forced evacuation and destruction of most university buildings, our higher education institution continues its educational activities in Poltava region, where before the war housed structural subdivisions of the university – the Institute of Culture and Arts and the Faculty of Foreign Languages. For the successful functioning of the university, the administration of the institution decided to locate some structural subdivisions in Myrhorod. Thus, on June 9, the official signing of a cooperation agreement between the Rector of our University Olena Karaman and Myrhorod Mayor Serhii Solomakha took place.
The official reception was attended by the Chairman of the Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo; Rector Olena Karaman; Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Yaroslava Yurkiv; Acting Vice-Rector for Administrative and Economic Affairs Artur Moldavanov; Chairman of the Trade Union Volodymyr Moroz; Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies Hennadii Mohylnyi; Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Natalia Matsai; Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Iryna Myhovych, on the first side, and Myrhorod Mayor Serhii Solomakha, Myrhorod District Council Chairman Natalia Hyrka; Head of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports (Myrhorod City Council) Tetiana Kolybelnyk, Myrhorod City Council Executive Committee Manager Antonina Nikitchenko, on the other side.
During the visit, the representatives of our university acquainted the audience with the 101-year history of our higher education institution, told about the structural subdivisions that will carry out their educational activities in Myrhorod from September 1, presented the presidium with commemorative medals of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. anniversary of the Foundation Day, inspected the premises where, according to the document, will house the Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology; Educational and Research Institute of Economics and Business; Faculty of Natural Sciences; Rubizhne and Bryankiv Vocational Colleges.
According to Mayor Serhii Solomakha, this event is very important, because this year graduates will be able to get a higher education near home, which is quite important in times of war. On the other hand, these are additional funds for the local budget.
We hope that the conclusion of the agreement will be an important step towards the full restoration and prosperity of the university in Poltava region and will be useful and fruitful.
