Master’s Thesis Defense

Master’s theses have been successfully defended at the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business of the Institute of Trade, Customer Services and Tourism.
Master’s thesis defense was conducted on January 21 in Tourism Science and Hotel and Restaurant Business specialties.
Examination Commission included:
- Chairman – V. S. Kurylo, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Academician of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, People’s Deputy of the VIII convocation;
- Committeeman – V. F. Drel, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associated Professor at the Department of Commodity Science, Commercial Business and Examination of Goods, Director of the Institute of Trade, Customer Service and Tourism;
- examiners – H. P. Shchuka, Head of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor at the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business;
- O. V. Hutsol, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associated Professor at the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business;
- Yu. V. Bezruchenkov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associated Professor at the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business.
All grade report sheets, master’s projects and other required papers have been sent to the Examination Commission according to a schedule.
All full-time and extramural students of specialties “Hotel and Restaurant Business” and “Tourism Study” have been accepted for master’s project defense.
Master’s project defense was conducted as a public defense. Those graduates who were not able to come to Starobilsk defended their works via Skype.
Master’s project defense demonstrated student’s skills to perform marketing research and to find market opportunities for developing hotel, restaurant and tourist enterprises; to substantiate effective trade, price, sales and communication policy; to model service and productive processes of hotel, restaurant and tourism enterprises; to develop enterprise’s spacing in accordance with its activity, regulatory requirements, modern presentation and design conceptions; to develop feasibility study for a project and task to design hotel, restaurant and tourism enterprises and so on.
Thesis defense showed that students had acquired theory and performed experimental research, analyzed and presented results, formulated conclusions and practical guidelines. The best presentation was the one by Svitlana Hrinova from Hotel and Restaurant Business. Olena Titovska, Kateryna Soldatova (full-time students) and Anna Didenko (extramural student) from Tourism Science performed good researches as well.
In general, all students succeeded in providing examples, explaining results and proving good knowledge.
