Student LNU is the Best Sportsman of the Region

Physical Culture and Sports Management Department of Donetsk Regional State Administration has designated the best sportsmen and trainers in 2015.

The rating has taken into account sportsmen results at the official Ukrainian and international competitions under three categories: Olympic sport, non-Olympic sport and kinds of sport among the disabled persons.

The third year student of Physical Education of SE “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” Oleksii Bychkov has taken the first place among the non-Olympic sportsmen. He has leaded with 9752 scores that is 2000 scores bigger that the second position result.

Oleksii is the European and World Champion and Master of Sports of Ukraine in powerlifting. In November 2015 at the World Championship in the city of Hamm (Luxembourg) he set two world records with the following results: 415 kg squat, 317.5 kg bench pressing and 362.5 barbell row – 1092.5 kg totally. This brought him the first place in the weight class to 120 kg.

Oleksii’s trainers are the Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports, Honored Powerlifting Trainer of Ukraine Ivan Zbanduta and Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, World-Class Master of Sports of Ukraine Volodymyr Sayenko. They are on the 1 and 3 positions in the top-rating of the best trainers of Donetsk region in 2015.
