Eternal memory and glory to the Hero!

On May 22, a 25-year-old student majoring in 061 “Journalism”, hero-patriot Serhii Bozhko died from a hostile Russian bullet, defending Ukraine in the east of the country. 

The Rectorate of the University, the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications, the Department of Journalism and Publishing express their sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased serviceman.

Serhii, having a law degree, always dreamed of being a military correspondent. In 2020 he decided to achieve his goal and entered Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, the specialty 061 “Journalism”. During the years of study he proved to be an honest and responsible student. He was always open, motivated, patriotic and bold in his views and statements.

Serhii Bozhko was born on August 16, 1997 in the village of Hnidyntsi, Chernihiv Region.

In 2010 he graduated from Kukharska Secondary School of Ivankiv district, Kyiv region.

In 2014 he graduated from the Ladan branch of the Pryluky Vocational Lyceum of the Chernihiv region, majoring in “confectioner”.

In 2017 he graduated from the National Academy of Internal Affairs (Kyiv), majoring in law enforcement.

From May 2017 to June 2018, he worked in the Pryluky Police Department of the Chernihiv Region as a district police officer.

In the period from 2018 to 2022 he served under contract.

Serhii, a devoted patriot of Ukraine and wise, was only 25 years old. Eternal memory and honor to Serhii Bozhko, who gave his life for Ukraine! Glory to heroes!
