Academic Council Meeting

On May 27, a meeting of the Academic Council of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University took place in a remote format.
The following issues were considered on the agenda:
- on the results of the Science Days in 2021 – 2022 academic year;
- on conferring academic titles;
- miscellaneous.
After hearing and discussing the report of the Vice-Rector for Research and Educational Work Anatolii Zhuchok, the Academic Council noted that during March-May 2022 in all structural subdivisions of the university took place the traditional university events – Science Days. They were conducted using online platforms Zoom, Google meet, Office 365, Skype in the form of scientific and practical conferences, student competitions, webinars, presentations, round tables, debates, discussion clubs, pedagogical readings, scientific and methodological as well as scientific and practical seminars, workshops. classes, trainings.
The total number of events held within the Science Days – 63, including 4 international (Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, Head – O.M. Bindas, Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education, Head – O.I. Sokolenko, Department of Oriental Languages, head – N.V. Fedicheva), 12 all-Ukrainian conferences, as well as conferences at the regional and university levels. The rather high level of organization of the scientific-practical conference “Faculty of Natural Sciences: Days of Science – 2022” (co-chair of the conference – N.Yu. Matsai) was noted. According to the results of the Science Days, a number of scientific publications have been prepared at the university.
The first stage of the All-Ukrainian Competition of Student Research Papers was held at the university, which was attended by 120 students. 20 works were sent to participate in the second stage of the competition. 2 students of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts in the All-Ukrainian Competition on Musical Art took the second place (Maria Karnaukh, supervisor – G.M. Polianska ) and 3rd place (Yelyzaveta Brynova, supervisor – I.V. Tsebrii).
In the 2021-2022 academic year, the Council of Young Scientists and Students initiated and held the First All-Ukrainian Interdisciplinary Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Issues, Problems and Prospects of Science and Education Development” (the responsible person for the organization – O.O. Korinska). Scientists and graduates from Poltava, Starobilsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Ternopil, Uzhhorod, Chernihiv and other regions of Ukraine took part.
The active Science Days were held in separate structural subdivisions of the university: Starobilsk Professional College of LTSNU, Lysychansk Pedagogical Professional College of LTSNU, Professional College of LTSNU.
At the same time, the Academic Council noted that there are certain problems in organizing and conducting science days, scientific work with students, including insufficient attention to attracting students to participate in scientific events with international participation, insufficient participation of students in research projects.
Olha Korinska, Head of the Council of Young Scientists and Students, Olena Karaman, Ilia Kononov, Natalia Matsai, and others took part in the discussion. Iryna Myhovych, Chair of the Commission on Scientific, International and Project Activities, commented on the draft resolution, which was taken into account during the decision-making process.
By the decision of the Academic Council, three scientific and pedagogical workers were awarded the academic titles of Associate Professor of the Preschool and Primary Education Department, Associate Professor of the Pedagogy Department and Associate Professor of the Psychology Department.
Among the miscellaneous the Rules of Admission to Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and the Rules of Admission to the Separate Structural Subdivisions of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University in 2022 were approved. The list of disciplines of free choice for applicants of the third (educational and scientific) level of the doctor of philosophy for the 2022 – 2023 academic year was approved. According to the decision of the Academic Council, scientific, educational and methodical works were recommended for publication; changes have been made to the educational and scientific programs of the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education (doctor of philosophy) for the 2022 – 2023 academic year and curricula for them, as well as changes to the contract with the researchers.
