Official visit

On May 10, the delegation of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University paid an official visit to the cities of Lubny and Myrhorod in Poltava region.

The purpose of the visit to Lubny and Myrhorod as powerful educational and cultural centers of Poltava region was to establish partnerships in the fields of educational, scientific and socio-cultural activities and discuss the development of educational activities of structural subdivisions of the university (research institutes, faculties, professional colleges, regional centers ) in these cities.

The university delegation was represented by Vitalii Kurylo, Chairman of the Academic Council; Olena Karaman, Rector; Volodymyr Moroz, Chairman of the Trade Union of Teachers and Students; Artur Moldovanov, Vice-Rector for Administrative and Economic Affairs, and Yurii Makhortov, Professor.

In Lubny, the guests were met by the Mayor Oleksandr Hrytsaienko, Head of the District Military Administration Tetiana Kachanenko, Head of the Education Department Myroslav Kostenko, and other representatives of local authorities. In Myrhorod the Mayor Serhii Solomakha, Secretary of the City Council Oleksandr Gurzhii, Head of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of the Myrhorod City Council Tetiana Kolybelnik and others met our delegation. 

The meetings turned out to be constructive. Promising areas of cooperation were the location of structural subdivisions of the university in the community, educational activities, research and socio-cultural projects, etc.

The next step will be the signing of cooperation agreements and the implementation of plans aimed at mutual development of communities and the university.
