On May 6, in the city of Irpin, members of the university staff paid their last respects to Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Yevhen Khrykov.
On March 23, a terrible tragedy occurred at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University: Russian invaders shot dead Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Yevhen Mykolaiovych Khrykov. He fell victim to Russia’s bloody war against Ukraine, defending the residents of a house completely destroyed by the enemy projectile.
Only on the third day after the murder, Yevhen Mykolaiovych’s wife and neighbors were able to bury him in the yard.
After the liberation of Irpen, hundreds of dead citizens from enemy bullets and shells were sent by volunteers for forensic examinations in various cities of Ukraine. The fate of Yevhen Mykolayovych remained unknown for a long time…
Vitalii Semenovych Kurylo started searching for our colleague, adding friends, colleagues, and university graduates. Vasyl Serafimovych Pikulyk, a graduate of the History Faculty, who at one time studied with Yevhen Mykolaiovych at our university, helped…
Therefore, the funeral took place only on May 6, 44 days after the death of Yevhen Mykolaiovych.
Vitalii Semenovych Kurylo, Olena Leonidivna Karaman, Natalia Oleksandrivna Kurylo, Olena Ivanivna Kravchenko, Viktor Fedorovych Drel, neighbors, friends took Yevhen Mykolaiovych on his last way from the entire university staff, colleagues and students.
A terrifying picture has opened up in the Irpen cemetery: thousands of “fresh” graves of civilians of all ages… Often whole families… Dates of death – March – April 2022. This crime of Russia is difficult to condemn from the point of view of criminal law, it is punishable by earthly punishment.
Yevhen Mykolaiovych was buried for 2 hours during the service of a Kyiv priest. The ceremony ended with a funeral dinner, during which everyone remembered Yevhen Mykolaiovych as a colleague, friend, teacher, family man, great scientist who left a significant legacy in the field of education and science.
