Results of the Science Days at the Ukrainian Language Department

The staff of the Ukrainian Language Department implemented a program of events within the traditional Science Days at the University.
Traditional Science Days took place at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University in April. Members of the Ukrainian Language Department of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications held scientific events and took part in a number of scientific events at the national level.
On April 7, teachers of the Ukrainian Language Department attended an online lecture “Sociolingual context of the history of the Ukrainian language: consciousness and rank” by Iryna Farion – PhD, Professor at Lviv Polytechnic National University and participated in a webinar from Clarivate “Predatory Publications: Recognize and Avoid” ( lecturer – Iryna Tykhonkova).
On April 11, as part of the Dialectological Meetings project, scholars joined an online discussion of a memoir lecture “Yurii Shevelov: Return to Ukraine” given by Pavlo Hrytsenko, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Director of the Institute of Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
On April 12, teachers of the Ukrainian Language Department took part in the next webinar of Clarivate on “EndNote: registration of bibliography of the article in the format of a journal.”
On April 14, together with the Department of Ukrainian Philology and General Linguistics, the Ukrainian Language Department took part in an online roundtable discussion “Native Language: No (New) Threats and New Hopes” with Natalia Bagniuk, Head of the Dialectology Department of the I. Krypiakevych Institute of Ukrainian Studies.
On April 15, the teachers attended an open online lecture “Language Realities in the World and in Ukraine” by Tilman Reuter, Professor at the Institute of Slavic Studies, Faculty of Cultural Studies, Alps Adriatic University.
On April 21, the Ukrainian Language Department with the participation of students held an online round table “Functions of the Ukrainian Language in the Modern Socio-Educational Context.” On the same day, members of the Ukrainian Language Department took part in an online scientific-theoretical webinar “Artistic and Journalistic Discourse in Modern Linguistic and Cultural Transformation of Ukraine”, organized by the Department of Stylistics, Language Culture and Sociolinguistics of the Institute of Ukrainian Language.

Teachers of the Ukrainian Language Department were trained at a regular webinar from Clarivate on “Research Smarter: Clarivate’s Decision to Position Universities in the GRAS (Global Ranking of Academic Subjects) Ranking.”
Under the guidance of teachers of the Ukrainian Language Department, articles and abstracts of higher education students were prepared for participation in all-Ukrainian conferences, including the XXI All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference named after Viktor Uzhchenko “Figurative Word of Luhansk Region” dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Ukrainian scientist took place at the University on April 22, 2022, and in the I All-Ukrainian Interdisciplinary Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Issues, Problems and Prospects of Science and Education”, which lasted from 27 to 28 April 2022.
