Despite the martial law imposed in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and the difficult situation that befell all spheres of society, on April 19, 2022 the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology of the Faculty of Foreign Languages held the annual X All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Internet Conference of Students and Young Scholars “Romance and Germanic Languages in the Modern Intercultural Space.”  Other higal her educationinstitutions including Kryvyi Rih National University, National University “Yurii Kondratiuk Poltava Polytechnic” Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University supported the tradition of holding the conference.

I am glad to welcome you today to our event – the X All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scholars in the framework of the traditional April Science Days of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on the 101st anniversary of our University. Good health and happiness, creative inspiration and success in scientific research! Anniversary, especially such an extraordinary one, traditionally involves talking about achievements, including scientific ones. The famous pedagogical and philological traditions of the University are scientific schools of dialectology, conceptualism, discourse studies of Lara Synelnikova, Anatolii Zelenko, Viktor Uzhchenko, Kateryna Hlukhovtseva.

We are proud of the achievements of our scientists, as scientists we are obliged to continue the best traditions and preserve the achievements of our predecessors. This requires personal commitment to the ideals of scientific objectivity and integrity.

I would also like to note that in contrast to the somewhat indifferent attitude of state institutions and business to national science, in Ukraine there is a public demand for its development. In this context, the prospects for the development of science in Ukraine largely depend not only on the ability of scientists to work at a high professional level, their further integration into the international scientific community, but also on the active and principled position of scientists to protect the interests of domestic science and the Ukrainian people.

The Head of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences. Associate Professor Olena Bindas continued the work of the conference and reminded of the importance of following the rules of academic integrity.

The conference was held in a friendly format, and at the end the workings results were summed up and closed the Scientific and Practical Internet Conference. All participants will receive Certificates and Proceedings of the X All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Internet Conference of Students and Young Scholars.
