Science Days at the Faculty of Foreign Languages

The Science Days took place at the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
On April 6, the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, with the support of the Council of Young Scientists and Higher Education Students, hosted the grand opening of the Science Days 2022, which is traditional for our university.
The Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Iryna Myhovych and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Higher Education Olha Korinska made introductory speeches. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Ms. Lyudmila Ovcharova, the Deputy Dean for Social and Humanitarian Affairs, Ms. Valeria Shkarlet, and faculty members.
Olha Korinska presented an informative report on the role of research in the formation and development of students, as well as on the activity of students in writing abstracts, articles and speeches at scientific conferences, symposia, forums. A number of tips on writing scientific papers and working with information letters of scientific conferences, etc. were also provided.
Olena Ovcharenko, a lecturer at the Department of Oriental Languages and a member of the Council of Young Scientists and Educators, made a report on “The Pedagogical Process Under Martial Law.” During the speech, emphasis was placed on the importance of psychological well-being of students and teachers. Given all the challenges of today, education in Ukraine is gaining a new role. Now attending classes (even distance) allows not only to gain professionally important knowledge and skills, but also provides a sense of identity, support and unity.
The second day of the event (April 7, 2022) was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Higher Education Applicants Ms. Olha Korinska, Deputy Dean for Social and Humanitarian Affairs Ms. Valeria Shkarlet, Acting Head of Translation Theory and Practice Nadia Demchenko and Lecturer of the Oriental Languages Department, member of the Council of Young Scientists and Educators Ms. Olena Ovcharenko.
Bachelor’s students have prepared reports on current topics, for example: “Technologies of critical thinking in foreign language learning”, “Social networks as a tool for presenting new knowledge”, “The place of syntax in the system of philological sciences”, “Benefits of information technology in the study and teaching of foreign languages”, “Sources of phraseology of the Chinese language”, etc.
As a result of the event, a collection of abstracts and reports for promising scientific conferences are currently being prepared.
