Training on media literacy

On February 16, an online training on media literacy was held for students.
The hybrid war that continues in the East of Ukraine is oversaturated with information attacks from the aggressor state, manipulation of public opinion and fakes, which are often found in the modern Ukrainian media space.
The events of February 2022 proved the need to be able to critically comprehend information, the importance of remaining calm.
In order to form a media culture among students, on February 16, 2022, an online training on media literacy was held at the university.
The event was held as part of the Unity Day, a new state holiday of Ukraine, which is designed to strengthen the consolidation of Ukrainian society, strengthen its resilience in the face of growing hybrid threats, information, propaganda and moral and psychological pressure on public consciousness.
Training for students of the Educational and Research Institute of Economics and Business, the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences, as well as the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications was conducted by the Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Work of the ER IEB, Assistant of the Department of Journalism and publishing Oleh Chernysh.
The participants of the event considered the main features of the modern media space, focused on how much time everyone devotes to working with the media today and how this affects the emotional sphere of the individual.
During the training, students could learn in detail the features of the formation of prejudices and the differences between facts and judgments.
At the end of the training, the participants took part in the quiz “Types of Manipulation in the Media”.
