The Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences held an event dedicated to Unity Day.

On February 16, the Educational and Researh Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences held an event for students, which was dedicated to the conciliarity of the territorial value of Ukraine. 

In recent months, the Ukrainian and Western media have been constantly cultivating the idea, date, time regarding a possible large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine. However, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi assures that the situation is under control and notes: “We are told that February 16 will be the day of the attack. We will make it Unity Day. The corresponding decree has already been signed. On this day, we will fly our national flags, put on blue and yellow ribbons and show our unity to the whole world.”

The National Security and Defense Council does not believe in the offensive on February 16-17. Oleksiy Danilov said that he does not see the possibility of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 16-17: “We are aware of the risks that exist on the territory of our country. But the situation is completely under control. Moreover, today we do not see that a large-scale offensive by the Russian Federation can take place either on the 16th or on the 17th.

Due to the constant information pressure, intimidation and the exact dates of the offensive, Ukrainians should rally, not believe in rumors, not despair or panic. Cold-bloodedness is the main enemy of panic and despair. The courage of the Ukrainian people and the solidarity of the international community with Ukraine will prevent the implementation of the aggressive plans of the Kremlin.

During the event, astudents asked interesting questions, a long discussion of the problem took place, during which the spirit of solidarity and unity reigned!

    Participation in the Training Session within the Framework of the “Leadership Academy for Internationalization” Program

    On November 22–23, Liudmyla Ovcharova, Head of the International Education Sector at the Department of International Relations, is participating in the training “Fundamentals of Ukrainian-American Academic Partnerships,” organized by EducationUSA Ukraine. This event represents a significant milestone in supporting and advancing higher education in Ukraine by bringing together experts and professionals committed to enhancing international collaboration.

     

    The training program is centered on the pressing challenges and opportunities that universities face in a globalized world. Participants have a unique opportunity to strengthen their intercultural communication skills, gain deeper insights into the nuances of building partnerships with American colleagues, and explore new horizons for cooperation.

     

    The first day of the training offered vibrant impressions and profound insights. Participants were introduced to the EducationUSA team, who shared their expertise and vision for the future of international education. Particular attention was given to the workshop “Understanding National Culture and Its Effects on Business Practices,” which provided an in-depth exploration of how national cultures influence professional communication and business practices. This session was led by Artem Kliuchnikov, a distinguished EducationUSA representative and expert in cross-cultural leadership studies.

     

    Another highlight of the day was the workshop “Hidden Challenges of Adapting to Another Culture.” This session became a true “eye-opener” for many participants, shedding light on often-overlooked aspects of cultural adaptation that significantly impact the effectiveness of international interactions. Participants delved into understanding how cultural peculiarities can affect communication, trust-building, and the development of professional relationships. The discussion was enriched by real-world case studies, illustrating these challenges in practice.

     

    The workshop emphasized the importance of recognizing personal cultural biases and adapting behavior in multicultural settings. Participants discussed how differences in values, communication styles, and work approaches can influence joint activities and explored ways to transform these challenges into opportunities for growth.

     

    The first day of the training became a pivotal stage in the participants’ professional development, equipping them with tools for effective intercultural interaction, which is fundamental to fostering successful academic partnerships.
