Soft Skills: webinar for higher education applicants

The Pedagogy Department held a webinar on the formation of soft skills for future physical education teachers.
The topic of actual skills of specialists of the 21st century causes lively discussions today. Both scientists and practitioners note the importance for the professional development of future specialists of the ability to communicate effectively, leadership, develop their level of emotional intelligence, critical thinking, creativity, self-management, formation of readiness to work in a team, that is, soft skills or universal skills.
A webinar organized by the Pedagogy Department for second-year applicants of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education in the specialty “Secondary Education. Physical Culture”, the ER IPES.
The purpose of the webinar is to focus the attention of participants on the key skills of a 21st century specialist, deepen knowledge about the mechanisms for developing Soft Skills, and give practical advice on the methods and techniques needed to improve them.
During the webinar, students studied the features of new approaches to the formation of universal skills in the context of using the competency-based approach in higher education, considered the types of soft skills and analyzed examples of how they affect career growth. In the practical part of the event, the participants were offered exercises to develop universal skills and given advice on how to effectively master modern approaches to their further improvement.
