The Rector of the University took part in the live broadcast of the Donbas PRIME program on the Donbas Online TV channel.

During the conversation, Olena Karaman expressed her position on the initiative to recognize diplomas from the certain districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, where she noted that she was categorically against it. My university and I are victims of the war in eastern Ukraine. This is a hybrid war, where the main component is information and psychological. It is the informational and psychological influence on the individual and mass consciousness of the population of the east of Ukraine. Education is the main means of information-psychological warfare. No one except us, and Iryna Zhdanova, executive director of the NGO “Open Policy Foundation”, can argue that the process and content of education taking place in the certain districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions is not being studied. For 8 years now, we, doctors of sciences, academicians, professors, have been studying the educational problem in the occupied territory.” The rector noted that a person who is integrated into the educational process and the educational system from the 1st year, he begins to integrate into the Ukrainian space in a non-violent way.

At the end, Olena Leonidivna said: “We will fight in general for the abolition of this bill in order not to harm Ukraine and everything that has been done during eight years. Every day we win souls from the occupied territory in order to provide quality education according to European and national standards. In order to educate a whole generation of patriots in the east of Ukraine, because our university is an outpost of Ukrainianism!
