Participation in the tournament

The Deputy Director of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports took part in the Open Table Tennis Tournament.
The Open Table Tennis Tournament of the Bronze Racket series has ended in the city of Severodonetsk. In total, about 70 athletes from Luhansk, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions became participants in this tournament. The competition lasted half a year and consisted of qualifying rounds, the winners of which were included in 12 finalists (“TOP-12”).
Pavlo Hordiienko, Deputy Director of the ER IPES, was also among the finalists.
According to the rules of the competition, the athletes were divided into two subgroups, where they played in a round robin system. According to the results of games in subgroups, the top eight played quarter-finals, semi-finals and final meetings.
Having played confidently in his subgroup, Pavlo advanced to the quarterfinals from the 1st place. There was also a victory with the score at 3:1. In the semifinal meeting there was a fierce struggle with the Kreminna tennis player Vitalii Kurditsky, the score changed in turn in favor of both opponents, but, unfortunately, the final result was the victory of Vitalii, who eventually took the 1st place.
In the fight for the bronze medal, Pavlo Hordiienko met with Kharkiv resident Pavlo Pelikh. This time, Pavlo Hordiienko won and took the 3rd place in the tournament.
All participants of the “Top-12” were awarded with memorable souvenirs, cash rewards, and the finalists additionally received personalized figurines and tasty prizes!
The general sponsor of the tournament was the head of the Table Tennis Federation of Severodonetsk Ihor Butkov.
