Participation in a series of webinars

Lecturer of Translation Studies Department Olha Korinska and lecturer of Oriental Languages Department Olena Ovcharenko took part in a series of webinars for Ukrainian scientists.

From January 20 to 27, pedagogical staff together with colleagues from other scientific institutions and higher educational institutions of Ukraine underwent training on the program of using the Web of Science Core Collection database. The classes were organized by Clarivate Analytics and were conducted in video lecture format. The lecturer was an expert in information and analytical resources and company training, Candidate of Biological Sciences Iryna Tykhonkova.

The following lectures were included in the webinar program:

Analysis of grant support and effectiveness of cooperation in Web of Science and InCites.

Possibilities of the EndNote reference manager for working with bibliography.

Updated Web of Science platform: faster, more convenient, more efficient.

During the event, participants discussed how to find and analyze the achievements of other institutions, identify leaders and find their contacts, how to analyze the results of cooperation of your organization with other institutions, how to analyze sources of research funding, identify topics that have received grant support. Issues of creating an account, filling the library through the import of records from the Web of Science, journal sites, online libraries, Google Scholar, adding records manually. Possibilities of the user’s cabinet, algorithm of search of works on the specified theme are considered, what may be mistakes and how to avoid them, how to analyze the results, distribution of documents by year, citations, h-index, what is the use of citation analysis, what are the related records, which institutions are leaders in this area, how to contact scholars from institutions where the publication should be published, what are the possibilities of free publication.

Upon completion of the program, all participants received certificates.
