Ukrainian Unity Day

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University joined the celebration of the Unity Day of Ukraine.

The reunification of Ukrainian lands was destined to go down forever in the history of the state as a majestic national holiday – the Unity Day of Ukraine. The celebration of this holiday symbolizes the inextricable connection between all generations of fighters for a free country, demonstrating to the whole world the indivisibility of the Ukrainian land and the inflexibility of the Ukrainian nation.

The theme of the unity of our people is relevant today more than ever. The best sons of Ukraine are again forced to defend the territorial integrity of our state. Never before has the Unity Day been such a great, hard-won and well-deserved holiday as in recent years.

In order to warn and remind about the events of the last century, the library of our university organized an exhibition of books on the history of Ukraine, photos and documents that describe in detail the events of 1919. The visitors can get to know about the original Universal of the Directory of the Ukrainian People’s Republic about the connection with the West Ukrainian People’s Republic.

The team of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University knows the price that this connection cost and respects everyone who helped make such an outstanding event happen. We remember that Ukraine is not divided, there is no separate Eastern and Western Ukraine, we have a single state and we are a single people. We must be worthy of the mission entrusted to us by fate, we must support and continue the heroic achievements of our ancestors, live up to expectations and become pride for our descendants.

On this significant day, we wish everyone a single spirit, great strength and power, strong friendship and fraternal help, mutual respect and understanding, true goals and lofty aspirations, one clear and peaceful sky for all. Let the mind, will and love for our native land unite us for the achievement of a lofty goal – the prosperity of a conciliar, independent, democratic, powerful Ukraine, a reliable guarantee of the well-being and happy life of its people.
