Memorandum of Cooperation

The University signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Representative of the Commissioner for the observance of the rights of residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Today, on January 21, 2022, the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”, represented by Rector Olena Karaman, and the Secretariat of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, represented by the Representative of the Commissioner for the Observance of the Rights of Residents of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions Konstantin Chernikov signed a memorandum of cooperation in a solemn atmosphere.

The purpose of cooperation is to unite efforts to protect constitutional human rights and civil liberties in Ukraine, increase the legal awareness of Ukrainian citizens regarding their constitutional rights and freedoms, improve the practical skills of higher education applicants in ensuring constitutional human rights and freedoms, increase the level of information security of Ukrainian society and their information culture.

The parties will cooperate in the following areas:

  • interaction in the process of conducting educational activities in the field of realization and protection of the rights and freedoms of a person, a citizen;
  • organizing and holding joint events aimed at raising citizens’ awareness of human rights and the mechanism for protecting their rights, in particular, conferences, seminars, round tables, meetings and other events;
  • development and implementation of joint projects and / or programs aimed at raising the level of legal awareness of student youth, fostering respect for the rights and fundamental freedoms of man and citizen.

It is also planned to systematically hold joint events with the involvement of foreign and international partners, as well as the participation of representatives of the Office in scientific and practical conferences, forums, etc.
