University signs up to a grant “Education Renewal. Assistance to the Displaced Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”.

Agreement on implementation of this grant provided by the project “Ukraine Confidence Building Initiative” (UCBI) supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) was signed on December 9, 2015.

With the assistance of UCBI LNU will provide its staff of 9 institutes in Starobilsk and Kreminna and rectorate with all necessary equipment for education process and restore the resource of the university for extramural education.

The main goals of cooperation between LNU and UCBI within the grant are:

• providing 9 institutes and rectorate with new office and IT-equipment and assistance in restoring university engineering support for extramural education;
• reduction of tension and disappointment of conflict victims due to the limited resource in the communities of Luhansk region by providing the displaced and new students with a possibility to use the advantages of restored university;
• improvement of unprotected local communities’ ability to deal with tension caused by the conflict on the East.
