Accreditation of educational programs

The university is undergoing an accreditation examination of two educational programs of the specialty “Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature”).

During January 17-19, 2021, an expert group is visiting Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University to conduct an accreditation examination of educational programs of the specialty “Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature). Due to quarantine restrictions, the visit of the expert group takes place using technical means of video communication.

The members of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance Ostap Bodyk, Liudmyla Krychun, Yulia Brailko and Tamara Mandych have the opportunity to study the features of two educational programs – “Ukrainian Language and Literature” and “Ukrainian Language and Literature. Language and Literature (English)”.

The expert group held 6 working meetings on the first day of work. During the meeting with the Rector of the University Olena Karaman, the First Vice-Rector, Chairman of the Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo, Vice-Rectors for Scientific and Pedagogical Affairs Yaroslava Yurkiv and Anatolii Zhuchok, ​​Dean of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications Tetiana Pinchuk and other representatives of the management system at the university, the experts also got to know the history and the glorious achievements of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, which has been training specialists in the Ukrainian language and literature since its foundation.

At two working meetings with the academic staff of educational programs, they discussed the problems that arise in the implementation of educational programs. The guarantors of educational programs Alla Nikitina and Olena Lapko and scientific and pedagogical workers gave answers to the questions posed by the experts. Teachers had the opportunity to share their impressions, observations and opinions about educational activities and cooperation with students.

The meeting with higher education applicants enrolled in educational programs was attended by first-fourth-year students of the first (bachelor’s) level of full-time and part-time study. Students actively communicated with experts, discussed issues of interesting student life, in which there is a place for educational, scientific, leisure, social and other activities. Some students have taken the initiative to also work as part of the expert groups of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance in order to improve the system of higher education in Ukraine.

The meeting with representatives of the student self-government was attended by students involved in the implementation of the internal quality assurance system for education of the university and the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications. The acting head of the university student self-government Oleksandr Mironenko, deputy student dean of the faculty Tуtшana Kononenko, trade union organizer of the faculty Yulia Budantseva, members of the Council of Young Scientists and Applicants for Education Iryna Maslovska and Oleh Chernysh introduced the experts to the opportunities open to applicants for education at the university. All willing participants of the educational process, except for the guarantors of the programs and the university administration, took part in the open meeting.

The program of further work provides for an examination by experts of the material and technical base of the university and the faculty, meetings with the participation of administrative personnel – heads of the Educational Department, the Department for Managing the Quality of Educational Activities, the head of the International Relations Department, deputy deans, the secretary of the Admission Committee and auxiliary service structures of the university. Meetings with graduates of educational programs and employers are also planned.
