Rectorate Meeting

Yesterday a regular Rectorate Meeting was conducted at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University

The agenda included the item concerning the state and prospects of development of the Institute of Culture and Arts and Faculty of Foreign Languages. Director of the Institute of Culture and Arts Inna Olehivna Stashevska and Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Ivan Mykhailovych Karpenko were the speakers.

They told about the features of life, education and work in Poltava, about staff of the institute and faculty: the main problem in both subdivisions is the insufficient number of skilled staff and the impossibility to expand the staff by Poltava experts because there are no such in necessary specialties. Institute and Faculty pays special attention to national and patriotic education and educative work – students always attend thematic excursions, exhibitions, festivals and concerts.

The main directions of socio-humanitarian work consist in communication with students concerning political environment in country, their adaptation to education and life under evacuation, meetings with parents to explain main working directions of subdivisions and university at large.

Ivan Mykhailovych noted that faculty students continued education within programs in Poland, the USA and China. Also faculty lecturers undertake an internship abroad to improve their skill level.

Division heads paid special attention to research and scientific activity of lecturers and students.

Inna Olehivna and Ivan Mykhailovych referred staff strengthening, activation of students and lecturers’ research activity, advertising and career-guiding work, national and patriotic education of students to the main working directions.
