Commemorative medal

On December 22, 2021, the National Bank of Ukraine issued a commemorative medal “100th anniversary of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”.

The release of memorable souvenirs is dedicated to the centenary of the founding of our higher education institution. The medal is made of nickel silver with a circulation of 10,000 copies. Sviatoslav Ivanenko became its artist and sculptor.

On the obverse of the medal there are: on the mirrored background – a fragment of the logo of our university – an owl and the inscriptions: LEARN TO ANOTHER, DO NOT TURN YOURSEL (in a semicircle); below: small State Emblem of Ukraine and inscriptions UKRAINE / 2021; logo of the Banknote-Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (to the right of the owl).

On the reverse of the medal, on a mirror background, the main building of the university is depicted, which has been located in the temporarily occupied territory in Luhansk since 2014 (built by the author’s project of the architect A.G. Molokin) and the inscriptions are placed: 100 YEARS (under the building), LUHANSK TARAS SHEVCHENKO NATIONAL UNIVERSITY (at the top in a semicircle and at the bottom in a semicircle).

The commemorative medal is available for orders in the online system and will be sold through the online store of numismatic products of the National Bank of Ukraine and distributor banks of the National Bank of Ukraine. And after the New Year’s holidays, everyone can purchase a commemorative medal at our university.
