Championships Among the Students and Pupils

Ukrainian Classic Powerlifting Championship, Ukrainian Championship among the students and Championship among the pupils of youth sport schools have been held recently.

The competitions were conducted from November 29 to December 2 in the city of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankovsk region. This year the participant number was the biggest comparing with the previous ones – 300 persons.

And this has an obvious reason. The competitions were conducted without special outfit. Under the current economic situation in the country not everyone is able to afford buying so expensive equipment. Now the Unite Sports Classification of Ukraine includes classic (without special outfit) powerlifting as well that is a positive factor.

These competitions in Kolomyia were a preliminary round for those athletes who will represent our country at the international competitions in classic powerlifting in 2016 and the First Championship among the students in classic powerlifting (Belorussia, July 11 – 16, 2016).

Our university was represented by the fourth-year student of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology (Psychology specialty) Polina Kocherova. She was a debutante at these competitions but nevertheless showed good results. She took the first place in the Ukrainian Championship among the students of youth sport school (Lysychansk City Youth Sport School), the second place among the university students and the third in the Ukrainian Cup.
