Academic Council Meeting

A meeting of the Academic Council took place at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

Two main issues were considered on the agenda:

1. About the university budget for the 2022 financial year.
2. About grant activities at the university.

After discussing the report, the acting Chief Accountant, Deputy Chief Accountant of the University Olena Kozlenko on the university budget for the 2022 fiscal year, the Academic Council approved an estimate of income and expenses for items financed from the university’s special fund for 2022 in the amount of UAH 70,715.00 thousand.

After hearing and discussing the report of the head of the International Relations Department Iryna Myhovych on grant activities at the university, the Academic Council noted that the intensification of international grant activities is one of the strategic directions of work. The active use of grant support programs during 2016 – 2021 allowed the university to increase its own ranking, mobilize financial resources for the development of its innovative activities, participate in international rankings, maintain international academic mobility, etc. Among the main groups of international donors who have provided non-repayable financial assistance of various types to our HEIs during these years, there were state budgetary institutions, international funds and organizations, diplomatic institutions of foreign countries in Ukraine and public funds.

The future plans of the university include participation in grants:

  • the project of fundamental research “Formation of critical thinking of citizens as a security factor in the conditions of armed violence and information aggression in the East of Ukraine” with the support of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (scientific advisor – Vitalii Kurylo);
  • infrastructure project “The impact of climatic changes in the steppe zone of the East of Ukraine on the functioning of the regional agricultural sector: assessment of the current situation and development of an effective algorithm for minimizing negative consequences”;
  • fundamental research project “Decentralization and dynamics of regional social space in a belligerent state: opportunities for innovative development” with the support of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (scientific advisor – Ilia Kononov).

Among miscellaneous, it was decided to award Ph.D. diplomas; on the provision of sabbatical leave; on the opening of educational programs “Geosciences” and “Land management and land protection” specialty 103 Geosciences for applicants for higher education of the first (bachelor’s) level of full-time and part-time forms of study; scientific work was put forward to participate in the competition for the prize of the President of Ukraine for young scientists; scientific and educational-methodical works were recommended for publication; the final report of the research work was approved; topics of dissertations for the scientific degrees of Doctor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy; changes in the composition of the Academic Council, the rules for admission to the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” in 2022.
