Docudays UA Festival

The Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts took part in the Docudays UA Festival.

In December, the 18th itinerant international documentary film festival on human rights Docudays UA ends. From September 27 to October 15, the Festival was held in the Poltava region. The purpose of this large-scale event is to promote the popularization and development of documentary films and increase the level of observance of human rights in Ukraine. The organizers see their mission as creating opportunities for every person in the country to watch the most talented and relevant documentaries from around the world.

This year, the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University for the first time acted as a partner of the NGO Poltava branch of the Public Service of Ukraine, which traditionally holds festival events in Poltava and the region.

The 3rd and 4th year education applicants majoring in “Audiovisual Art and Production”, together with the teacher of the Department of Culturology and Film and Television Art Olena Burim, became active participants in many interesting events of the Festival. They attended a press conference of the organizers, which took place on the opening day of the tourist festival in the Poltava Regional Universal Scientific Library named after I.P. Kotliarevsky and tried their hand as cameramen and journalists, covering this event in their educational information materials.

They also joined the viewing of the most interesting films that were shown on public platforms (in libraries, educational institutions, etc.) and on online platforms; actively participated in discussions and discussions that were held immediately after the screening of the tapes and what, in fact, is provided for by the format of the Festival itself. Indeed, among its goals are the development of critical thinking, the formation of an active civic position, in particular among modern youth, an attitude towards human dignity as the highest value. All these qualities are very important for those who will very soon create a media space in our country, so we hope that our education applicants will have an opportunity for development and self-improvement during the next Docudays UA Festival.
