Online conference

An online conference was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism. 

On December 17, an online conference “Prospects for the Development of Tourism on the Territory of the Starobilsk District” was held, organized by the Educational and  Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” together with the Starobilsk District State Administration.

The main goal of the conference was to combine theory and practice, the experience of representatives of civil society institutions to popularize the tourism potential of the Starobilsk district. 

“Tourism is considered one of the most powerful industries in the world. This branch of the economy is rapidly developing and is an important element of socio-economic development, including the Starobilsk districtˮ, Volodymyr Cherevatyi, First Deputy Chairman of the Starobilsk District State Administration, said at the beginning of the conference.

The event began with a report by Oksana Ochkurova, head of the social organization Center for Social Development “Effective Community”. In her speech, the speaker outlined the main problems and priorities for the development of the tourism industry in the Starobilsk district, which are faced by public organizations in the implementation of tourism projects. Achievements of the research ART-residence “Aura of the City” were also presented.
During the conference, Olena Kashynska, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business, made a report “Retrospective Analysis of the Formation of the Competence of Specialists in Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business”, Yuri Bezruchenkov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business made a report “Urban Tourism, Development in Ukraine”.

Yana Moroz, Assistant of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business, introduced the audience to the presentation “Features of the Development of Green Tourism in the East of Ukraine”.

Anastasia Sycheva, Candidate of Political Science, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business, spoke on the topic: “Overlanding Tourism: Specificity of the Direction”.

The reports and presentations of the teachers of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business were devoted to familiarizing the conference participants with the successful experience of developing the tourism industry in Ukraine. An analysis of effective tourism projects will help determine the model and priority directions of tourism development in the Starobilsk district.

Svitlana Zahorovska, Deputy Chairman of the Starobilsk District State Administration, also took part in the online conference and joined the discussion of the development of tourism in the Starobilsk district and the creation of possible tourist routes.

At the end of the online event, Mykhailo Chumak, Deputy Director of the ER ICSTT, addressed the conference participants. The importance of such discussions was emphasized, allowing for joint efforts to develop a clear strategy for the successful development of tourism in the Starobilsk district. The constant interaction of local authorities, business, the public sector, tourism development specialists will create tourism brands, new tourism products, and increase the investment attractiveness of the region. In this cooperation, the mission of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business is to train highly qualified specialists in the field of tourism and hospitality, to develop effective tourism management and tourism marketing.

The result of the online conference was an agreement between the participants of the event to achieve a common vision in the development of tourism in the Starobilsk district.
