Visit to Batumi University

The delegation of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University visited the Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
On December 17, within the framework of the official visit to Georgia, the Rector of the University Olena Karaman and the head of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business Svitlana Bezborodykh visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
The purpose of the visit was to sign an agreement on cooperation in educational, scientific, international, socio-cultural areas of activity of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
One of the organizers of the meeting was the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in the city of Batumi Rostom Nakashidze.
Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is one of the leaders of higher education in Georgia, an educational and research center whose mission is to train highly qualified, competitive specialists, free persons with national and universal values.
The guests were greeted by the Deputy Rector for Research Anzor Beridze, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor. Greeting colleagues from Ukraine, Anzor briefly dwelled on the history and main achievements of the university at different times, the common fate of the Georgian and Ukrainian Western Military District in defending the freedom and independence of countries from an external aggressor, expressed hope for the end of the war and the return of LTSNU to their native walls.
The head of the International Department made a presentation of the university, after which Olena Karaman noted the common features of the two universities: similar stories (both universities were created on the basis of pedagogical institutes, are named after outstanding national poets), missions, values, strategic directions of development; names of faculties and educational and scientific institutes, specialties; graduated education systems; quality assurance systems for educational activities, etc.
The Dean of the Tourism Faculty Irakli Kordzaya, taking into account the wishes of his colleague Svitlana Bezborodykh, arranged a tour of the faculty, during which he shared his experience in training future specialists in the field of tourism, demonstrated the material, technical, educational and information base, at the same time asking the guests about the system of training specialists at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The central event was the signing of the agreement between Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and discussion of a plan of joint actions for the near and long term.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of complete mutual trust and interest in joint activities. We hope that this cooperation will be beneficial to both universities.
