The Department of Oriental Languages organized an online business meeting with the stakeholder, Chinese entrepreneur Mr. Wang Bing.
The meeting was attended by Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Ms. Iryna Myhovych, Head of the Department of Oriental Languages Ms. Natalia Fedicheva, Chinese Language Teacher Ms. Daria Perepadya and students of the 1-4 years.
The concept of the meeting provided for the first priority discussion of the educational program “Language and Literature (Chinese, English) ». Ms. Perepadya, the guarantor of the program, focused on the regional context of this educational program. By the way, Mr. Wang Bing, a master of philology, believes that traditional ideas about translation are a thing of the past, and new professional models of translators are emerging instead. According to him, an integral factor in the training of future translators should be the formation of their skills in using computer translation programs, communication skills and personal and psychological qualities, which will make them competitive in today’s labor market. Ms. Perepadya, the guarantor of the program, stressed that the peculiarity of the educational program “Language and Literature (Chinese, English)” is that it focuses on the formation of professional competence and skills, which Mr. Wang Bing has mentioned. The businessman was pleasantly impressed by the level of training of philologists-translators from / into Chinese, positively described the content of the educational program and its focus. Mr Wang Bing noted the demand for skilled workers translators with knowledge of Ukrainian and Chinese in China and invited graduates to work or do internships in the countries where he conducts his business, namely China, Cyprus, Malaysia and Vietnam. He acquainted the audience with the directions of his business, noted which workers are in demand now in the labor market.
Much attention, the businessman said, is paid to the company’s social skills. Applicants asked questions about possible future work / internship. Such meetings believe future philologists-translators are very important because they increase motivation to study, develop intercultural professional competencies and strengthen international academic mobility.
