“The Figurative Word of Luhansk Region- 2021”

The XX All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference named after Viktor Uzhchenko “The Figurative Word of Luhansk Region” was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.  

On December 17, 2021, at the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications, the XX All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference named after Viktor Uzhchenko “The Figurative Word of Luhansk Region” was held, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”.

The plenary session of the conference this year was held in a mixed format, in particular, those present at the university had the opportunity to communicate with scientists from all over Ukraine who were present online using Zoom Meetings video conferencing.

At the beginning of the conference, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications Tetiana Pinchuk addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, wishing fruitful cooperation, mutually beneficial partnership and generation of new scientific ideas and hypotheses and their successful confirmation. The meeting was moderated by Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor Alla Nikitina.

The plenary session was attended by well-known scientists and novice researchers from Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University as well as other Ukrainian higher education institutions, in particular the Kherson State University; the Academician Stepan Demyanchuk International University of Economics and Humanities; Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University; V.O. Sukhomlynskyi National University of Mykolaiv; Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University; Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine; National University “Ostrog Academy”; Institute of the Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University, etc. 

The work of the conference united three directions: linguistic, literary and methodological. The topics of the conference participants’ reports raised the issues of the philological and methodological heritage of the outstanding Ukrainian phraseologist V. Uzhchenko; East Ukrainian and West Ukrainian vocabulary and phraseology; figurative neoplasms of modern speech; symbolism of Ukrainian phraseological units; figurative word in language and literature lessons; analysis of the figurative word in the research and educational work of education applicants.

A collection of scientific papers of the same name will be traditionally published based on the materials of the conference.
