In Memory of the Holodomor Victims

Students and teachers of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University took part in the funeral procession in memory of the Holodomor victims.

Institute of Culture and Arts and Faculty of Foreign Languages together with Poltava citizens honoured the memory of the died by the minute’s silence and by the action “Light the Candle” at the square near Gogol Theater. After that everybody came to Sviato-Uspenskyi Cathedral where the funeral prayer was held.

This annual action is very important for the youth. It is aimed at understanding such terrible tragedy in the history of Ukrainian people and creating the uncompromising attitude to the totalitarian rule.

It is to be recalled that two subdivisions of LNU – Institute of Culture and Arts and Faculty of Foreign Languages – are located in Poltava now.
