Online forum about higher education in Austria and Germany from DAAD

On December 14, 2021 applicants for higher education 2 – 4 courses of specialty 014 Secondary education. Language and Literature (German, English) of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology of the Faculty of Foreign Languages took part in the online forum «All about higher education in Austria and Germany» with representatives and students of German universities with the participation of the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD.
The online forum is aimed at familiarizing education seekers with the specifics of studying in institutions in Austria and Germany and informing about the intricacies of life abroad.
The forum program has thoroughly immersed our youth in information about:
- Education in Germany and Austria. The similarities and differences in the admission algorithms after the 11th grade of the Ukrainian school.
- State programs of student exchanges and scholarships.
- Quarantine restrictions for students. The current situation and what to expect in the coming year.
- Results of the outgoing year. How the pandemic changed the way we teach.
- International education and graduate prospects. What do representatives of universities and students think about this?
- Preparation for admission. How to prepare for admission and study at German and Austrian universities, what to expect.
- Life of students in Germany and Austria. Education, everyday life, leisure, part-time work for students.
- Financial issue. How much do students spend on living in different cities in Germany and Austria?
The meeting was conducted by Daria Kurdyumova, director of the educational company “Intellect Guide”, Elena Yevtushenko, expert of the company “Intellect Guide” on education in Germany and Austria, Emil Popov, representative of the Freshman Institute at the State University of Applied Sciences Aachen (FH Aachen), and Oksana Shvaika, project coordinator of the DAAD Information Center in Kiev. Taking into account the individual characteristics, the initial situation, the wishes and goals of the Intellect Guide client, they build an individual route to the goal, charge with determination and inspire to conquer new heights!
