Career Guidance Work

The Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​is actively implementing the career guidance direction of its activities in the Poltava region.

This week, representatives of the faculty administration received students of the 11th grade of secondary school №5 and secondary school №38 in Poltava. Ms. Valeria Shkarlet, Deputy Dean for Social and Humanitarian Affairs, and Nadiya Demchenko, Acting Head of the Theory and Practice of Translation Department, introduced the entrants to the structure of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, the history of the faculty’s formation and development. 11th graders received detailed information on available specialties, as well as on those subjects that must be taken at the External Evaluation in 2022 to enter the faculty. 

The questions from potential entrants, which were heard in the direction of the faculty administration, demonstrated the motivation and determination of students as to which foreign language they plan to choose for their further studies at the faculty. During the meetings, everyone was provided with information on employment opportunities and prospects in the chosen specialty. The following issues were discussed at the meeting, for example: “Is it difficult to study Chinese and Japanese?”, “Do teachers have modern teaching methods?”, “Will we study many disciplines?”, “Is it possible to go abroad for an international program?”, ” What level of English do you need to know to study at the Faculty of Foreign Languages?” and other. Nadiya Oleksandrivna shared tips on choosing a foreign language and compiling an external examination in English.

A fundamental part of the functioning of the faculty is the social and humanitarian work. Valeria Alexandrovna told in details about the life of the faculty, traditions, the celebration of national and international holidays, various excursions and trips organized by the faculty. Students were also acquainted with the website of our university, received instructions on how to find the necessary information for admission and further study. Much was said about the scientific and international activities of the faculty, the opportunity to participate in various conferences, especially at the international level, in exchange programs and foreign internships.

The faculty continues to carry out actively career guidance work both in Poltava and in Luhansk region.
